"We shift our frequency by listening to the energy field in and around us." Lee Kemter
The Alchemy of Attention
Before gold was ever forged in fire, it lived in silence.
Before a sound becomes a song, it arises in a field of deep listening.
I am sharing the unseen magic of attention, not as a a tool of control or fixing anything, but as a living current of consciousness.
When you place your attention on something, you observe it. Yet more than that you’re entering into resonance with it. You are not only seeing, you are sounding—sending a vibrational tone into the field that the universal energy field can respond to. This is why attention is the new alchemy (not metaphorically, but energetically).
What Is the Listening Field?
The listening field is the interactive layer of the quantum field—the part that receives your tone (a signal), reflects it, and sometimes transforms it.
Imagine a mycelial network under the forest floor, and all around you—conscious, intelligent, and vibrationally alive.
Your presence doesn’t enter a silent void. Instead, it steps into a relational web of coherence.
When you listen without agenda, when your attention is soft, clear, and reverent, the field itself begins to shimmer.
I hasn’t changed, you did.
Scientific Anchors: The Field Hears You
Let’s gently root these ideas in science:
- The Observer Effect (Quantum Mechanics):
The act of observation changes the outcome. Subatomic particles behave differently when measured. The presence of conscious attention alters energy. - HeartMath & Global Coherence:
The heart’s electromagnetic field extends several feet beyond the body. When we’re in coherence (heart, brain, and gut aligned), our signal affects others—and the global energetic field—measurably. - William Tiller’s Intention Experiments:
Tiller’s studies showed that human intention could change the pH of water, alter healing rates, and leave energetic imprints even in sealed experimental conditions.
In each of these studies, attention wasn’t passive, although it could appear to be on the surface. Because it was a wave, a signal, a frequency bridge, it was potent and filled with vitality.
Attention as a Form of Devotion
In mystical traditions, attention has always been a form of love. When a child brings you a pebble they found and waits quietly for your eyes to meet theirs, that is attention. That is also presence— coherence with the endless energy field in and around us.
- When you listen to your breath, you shift your nervous system.
- When you tend to your emotions, your frequency steadies.
- When you hold space for another, your field expands.
These are not grand spiritual feats. They are subtle harmonics of wholeness.
Devotion is not about belief, as we may observe in spiritual or religious contexts—I am describing devotion as form of focused attention.
Linking to Prior Posts in this Series
Let’s bring forward key bridges of the subjects we’ve been exploring:
In our first post in this series on Tone, we shared that your unique energetic signal—the way you feel, think, speak, and show up—sends a vibration into the quantum field. I wasn’t referring to tone as metaphorical—it’s energetic. Just as sound waves ripple through air, your inner state creates waves in the subtle field around you. The field responds not to your words alone, but to your resonance.
Now we invite a deeper awareness:
The field not only responds to you—it listens through you. When you’re present, coherent, and attuned, you become a listening post for the greater field. This doesn’t mean you’re passively absorbing everything—it means your whole being becomes a receptive instrument. In this state, your attention moves form observation to participation. It’s as if the field is sensing through your sensing, reaching into this moment with you.
This is why attention is alchemical—it changes what it touches, not just because you’re focusing on it, but because the greater field is now flowing through your awareness, co-creating the moment with you.
Tone grows. Presence strengthens. A listening loop is born.
In the 3-part Vertical Presence Axis post, we explored (mind, heart, belly) becomes harmonic through attention. The mind names and notices. The heart attunes and softens. The belly grounds and resonates.
When we place our attention gently—without judgment or force—on all three centers of knowing (the mind, the heart, and the belly), we begin to attune to a deeper inner coherence. This coherence isn’t something we achieve—it’s already there, waiting to be noticed.
- The mind offers clarity.
- The heart brings compassion.
- The belly grounds us in truth and trust.
When these three centers are listened to together, a harmonic signal rises within us—and something beautiful happens:
- We don’t just think. We feel ourselves.
- We don’t just send a signal into the world. We realize that the world—the quantum field itself—is already listening.
- And instantly, we’re in a conversation: with life, with energy, with the invisible intelligence that flows through everything.
In our post on Ritual, we looked into how intention + repetition alters the energy field. Listening is the first ritual.
Let’s take something profoundly ordinary:
A parent sitting beside their child at bedtime. There are no distractions, no devices. The room is dim. The child whispers something they’ve been holding in—perhaps a fear, a dream, or something that happened at school. The parent doesn’t interrupt, fix, or correct. They simply listen with their whole being. In that moment, the field around them changes. The child’s nervous system settles while the parent’s presence deepens. A resonance is created—felt, not spoken. That’s ritual. It’s repeated nightly. Not because they have to, but because it forms a rhythm—a pulse of connection. And over time, that listening becomes an energetic scaffold of love, safety, and shared frequency.
In our most recent post about the Spiral of Frequency, unlike a straight line that moves only forward or upward, the spiral reflects life’s true rhythm: we revisit lessons, emotions, and insights again and again, but from new vantage points each time. The path may look familiar, but you have changed.
Attention is what makes this spiral conscious. It’s what allows you to walk each turn of your life with presence, instead of sleepwalking through repeated patterns. It’s the difference between reacting automatically and responding with awareness. When you give your attention to the spiral—your sensations, your breath, your choices—you’re not just going in circles.
You’re tuning your field toward wholeness. And the field listens back.
Embodied Practice: Listening Without Words
Try this simple practice:
Choose a sound, a scent, a cup of tea, or the texture of your blanket.
Sit in silence with this one sensory experience (No analyzing. No creating a story about it. Just feel).
Do this for 3–5 minutes. Breathe in a rhythm that feels nurturing and comfortable.
Then gently write or draw what you felt—not what you thought, but what your frequency became.
Did time slow down?
Did your heart soften?
Did your field feel warmer, more expanded, or increasingly still?
This is alchemy. This is the listening field responding.
The World is Not a Problem to Solve—It’s a “Field” to Be in Dialogue With
When we pause long enough to listen to the world, we stop pushing against it.
We stop trying to fix everything from the outside. Instead, we begin to feel subtle invitations rising from within the field itself.
This kind of listening isn’t passive—it’s receptive intelligence.
It’s how the field teaches us to respond rather than react, to create rather than control.
And when you let the world listen to you, something extraordinary happens. Your intentions ripple into the collective space without force—It happens through frequency.
The field hears your presence—and harmonizes with it.

What Might This Look Like in Practice?
- Sitting quietly by a river, and letting it speak to you.
- Gently placing your hand on a loved one’s shoulder and feeling their nervous system settle.
- Asking your inner self, “What’s needed now?”—and waiting patiently, without expectation, for the answer.
These moments are micro-acts of alchemy. They change your tone. And because you are part of the field… they change the field.
What Is Made in this Kind of Listening?
Alchemy was never just about various metals. It was always about frequency.
So… what does your attention turn to gold?
- A child’s confidence?
- A moment of rest in your own nervous system?
- The healing of a painful memory now seen with love?
This isn’t a metaphor of lead (a solid, tangible object) turning into gold (a different, solid object). The field itself changes tone through your attention.
As physicist David Bohm once suggested, meaning is not made in isolation. It is generated in relationship—between observer and observed, self and whole.
So next time you think about changing the world, try this:
Listen to it, with open-heartedness and sense of wonder. And let it listen to you.
- Let the conversation be subtle.
- Let it be felt.
- Let it be alive in the space between you and the leaf, the sky, the silence, and the moment you find yourself in.
It helps me to remember I am not here to conquer the world. I am here to co-regulate with it, to harmonize my tone (signal) with the deeper music of all-that-is. And in doing so—absolutely—I can change the world. I hope you are inspired to join me.

P.S. For parents who want to introduce this subject to your children or for those who would like to have a tool for homeschooling, here are games and playful ways for kids to understand “the Listening Field” in daily life.
Let’s begin with kids ages 9-12.
Activity: “Whispers in the Field” – A Nature Listening Map for Ages 10–12
Overview:
This is a quiet solo exploration designed to help children experience what it means to “listen with your whole body” and feel how nature may be listening back. It blends drawing, sensory awareness, and mapping with imagination and emotional reflection.
Learning Intention:
This activity teaches that listening is a frequency practice, not just something we do with ears. It helps them feel into:
- Nonverbal communication with the environment
- The field as reciprocal
- Their own presence as an energetic signal
- Nature’s aliveness 🌿 as a field of listening
Supplies:
- A large sheet of paper or a field journal
- Colored pencils, markers, or crayons
- A quiet place in nature (garden, park, woods, backyard)
Step-by-Step Instructions:
- Find a Listening Spot
Invite the child to walk slowly in silence until they feel drawn to a specific place in nature—a tree, a rock, a flower patch, or even an open clearing. This is their “Listening Spot.” - Activate the Senses
Sit down. Take three slow breaths. Then begin noticing:- What do you see that you didn’t notice before?
- What do you hear, both loud and soft?
- Can you feel anything subtle in your body?
- What emotions or thoughts arise naturally here?
Draw the Listening Map
On the paper or journal, draw a simple map of what’s around you, but with a twist:
- Use swirls to show where you feel energy or aliveness in the land.
- Use glowing lines to show any places that feel like they’re “listening” to you.
- Add symbols or images for sounds (birdsong, wind, silence).
- Place yourself in the center, radiating a soft signal outward (you can represent it as gentle waves or light).
Optional Layer: Message from the Field
After 10–15 minutes, ask:
“If the land or sky could whisper something back to you, what would it say?”
Write it gently along the edge of the map or in a corner.
Reflective Prompts (after the drawing)
- What surprised you during this activity?
- Did you feel like the space was quiet—or alive in its own way?
- What changed in your body when you stopped trying to “do” and just listened?
Spiral Drawing Template: Listening with Head, Heart, and Belly
Instructions:
This spiral invites children to draw how they listen in three different centers:
- Head (thoughts and ideas)
- Heart (feelings and kindness)
- Belly (intuition or inner knowing)
Prompts for Each Center:
- What do you hear in your head when you’re quiet inside?
- What does your heart want to say today?
- What does your belly feel when something feels right?
Let them color the spiral and fill each circle or open area with symbols, colors, or images that represent how they listen in each area.

Older children can begin to understand that listening is a form of presence and care—not just with ears, but with their whole being.
An Option: Combine Age Groups (Ages 5–9)
This works well if the goal is to create a unified experience where younger siblings or mixed-age classrooms can participate together. We’d focus on activities that are sensory, symbolic, and embodied—leaving space for imagination and parental/teacher support.
Suggestions for age groups:
For Ages 5–6:
- Keep it sensory and imaginative.
- Emphasize short, clear guidance and embodied cues (touching body parts to feel, breathing slowly, mirroring animal movements as a form of “tuning in”).
For Ages 7–9:
- Add symbolic reflection and guided journaling.
- For example, after the “Listening with My Whole Body” circle decribed below, offer a prompt like:
“When I listened with my belly, I felt…”
“My heart whispered…”
“I think the field was saying…”
Activity 1: “Listening with My Whole Body” – A Movement Circle
- Children begin by standing in a circle (or with a caregiver/parent.
- Cue them to place one hand on their heart, one on their belly.
- Invite them to feel their feet, then take three slow breaths.
- Then ask them to:
- “Listen with your feet—can you feel the ground?”
- “Listen with your belly—can you feel calm?”
- “Listen with your heart—what feelings live there today?”
- “Listen with your ears—what sounds are near or far?”
- “Listen with your imagination—can you feel the tree listening back?”
- End with a quiet minute of stillness, then a shared gesture like palms open to the sky or a whispered: Thank-You.
Activity 2: Coloring Page – “What Listens Back to Me?”
- Prompt: “Draw or color a scene where something in nature, like a flower, listens to you.”
- Children choose whether it’s a tree, an animal, the wind, or even a glowing field of stars.
- You can include this visual guide: a child with an open posture and soft lines around them showing how the field in the form of a flower is “hearing” their presence. What else is “listening” to what they are thinking and feeling?
- While coloring, ask your child to imagine how the world might be quietly responding to their energy or feelings.
🌀 Here is your optional coloring page: a child sits in an open, receptive posture surrounded by nature—an owl in the tree, a flower leaning in, the wind swirling gently, and a star-field above—all subtly listening and responding to the child’s quiet presence.

Activity 3: “The Listening Leaf” 🌱 Nature Game
- Go on a short walk or sit in the yard/garden.
- Invite children to choose one leaf, rock, or flower.
- Ask: “Can you sit with this and just listen to it?”
- After a few quiet moments, they share (or draw) what they felt—not what the object said, but how their own energy shifted while listening.
- Ask them, What do you think the world hears from you when you’re…
- Kind?
- Joyful?
- Calm?
- Silly?
- Curious?
- Invite them to draw themselves sitting with you, listening to each other, feeling one of the qualities listed above. What colors represent that feeling in them and in you?
Final Reflection for Parents & Caregivers
Thank you for exploring this journey into the Listening Field with your child.
This activity packet is more than coloring pages or drawing exercises—it’s an invitation into a different kind of awareness. One that isn’t based on achievement or productivity, but on presence, inner feeling, and subtle connection.
What You’re Supporting
Through simple creative activities, your child is learning:
- That their inner sensations (in the head, heart, and belly) are meaningful and worth listening to
- That attention is powerful—what we focus on shapes how we feel and how the world feels around us
- That nature is not separate—it responds to presence, kindness, and quiet awareness
- That frequency isn’t just a word—it’s how they participate in a larger energy field that listens and responds
These are lifelong tools. They help children build emotional intelligence, deepen their felt sense of connection, and develop a foundation of self-trust that supports both creativity and well-being.
Tips for You
- Join them. Even if briefly, place your own hands over your heart while they color or draw. Your coherence supports theirs.
- Be curious with them. Ask open-ended questions like: “What do you think the wind hears?” or “How does it feel when someone really listens to you?”
- Let the field guide you. If your child wants to tell a story, dance instead of draw, or stare quietly at the stars—that’s beautiful. The point is presence, not perfection.
A Gentle Reminder
There is no right or wrong way to do these activities. What matters most is how your child feels while engaging with them. Let them know that the world wants to listen to them—and you do, too.
Thank you for taking the time for sharing with your children the unseen, yet real world in which we co-exist. You and your amazing children inspire me.
May we feel peace and listen to each other and our world from a deeper, more conscious awareness of the energetic field in and around us.
With endless love,
Lee
